Author Website Guide is created for indie authors to be able to get great and unbias advice on author website creation and be a free resource that help make an well-educated decision. There are some ‘how to set up your author website’ posts on good blogs but they are more about exact process of WordPress or Wix setup and are their main intent is to sell website hosting or other affiliate income(nothing wrong with it but less bias and more research would be nice).
I think indie author websites are in a bit worse state than indie book covers. Having been a book cover designer for over 7 years I’ve seen how covers are getting better and better.. but author websites haven’t improved as much. Having done author websites too for over a year, I think we need a place where indies can learn about making a kickass author website and I hope AWG will become the world’s best resource about this!
About me: I’m Adrijus and I’m a big reading, creativity, business, and music fan. I love all things Creative and working with Adobe Photoshop. I’ve been in a book cover designer for over 7 years and I’m now expanding into author website designs.
It started off as a passion working on my own at home, making desktop wallpapers about basketball. But in 2012 after failing a business and getting fired from the day job I had a choice, look for another soul-sucking job or chase dreams and become a freelancer… I took the 2nd option and focused on Book Cover Design and working with Authors. Just like you probably, I want to live off of my creative passion and make a dent in the Universe (and hopefully make a big one!).
